In the digital radio communication system, a control unit for terminating a call and a digital signal processor for executing a digitized data signal process are often located separately from each other. In the case where a call is terminated with these two units distant from each other, for example, a connection problem between the control unit and digital signal processor may arise or a long time may be required for a connection between the two units. Accordingly, a system is proposed in which the two units are simultaneously or substantially simultaneously operated to reduce a time required for the termination of a call. In this system, however, since the two units must be operated in synchronization, the overall system tends to become complex. Also, since a number of lines such as a clock line and a data line must be connected between the control unit and digital signal processor, it is difficult to reduce the size of the overall system.
In a technique disclosed in, for example, JP-A-61-241084, a call is terminated by detecting the occurrence of a prescribed event, a digital signal is processed, and an interchanging event is determined by comparing a predetermined information signal with a digital signal processed in real time, so that a call is terminated by referring to the determined interchanging event. In this technique, since the digital signal processed in real time is not communicated to the control unit and the digitized data signal is not processed, an influence on the overall system caused by the interchanging event can be reduced. However, this technique is still disadvantageous in that the communication path connecting the two units must be designed so that the real-time digital signal and digitized data signal are synchronized with each other, and it is difficult to reduce the size of the overall system.
